Second poem

...You've kissed my hair
to wake me. I dreamed you were a poem,

I say, a poem I wanted to show someone...
and I laugh and fall dreaming again
of the desire to show you to everyone I love,
to move openly together
in the pull of gravity, which is not simple,
which carries the feathered grass a long way down the upbreathing air.

I have no way to tell what it is all about, except that it came. It just came and I never wanted it, never planned for it.
:::the poem
Is the second in Adrienne Rich's 21 Love Poems, a rich, passionate and wonderful telling of love between two women.

Some interesting updates from today and moving backwards from Saturday last week:

  • I got my Adrienne Rich book straight from Amazon (so, so this thing really works). The book's called The dream of a common language, which includes my favorites "21 love poems," "power," "somewhere else but here." I felt senti coming to the office finding the book on top of my table. Amazon truly delivers on time (cool); only, I paid handling fee of around 54.5% more than the book price (yaiks!).
  • Whole week was entirely work.
  • Met some artists Saturday. Artcebu is coming on positively and with very good response from Cebu artists. Even the rather "mature" ones came during yesterday's meeting, which is a wonder. We'll try to get the website launched by May 31 and hopefully get it on track with some volunteers outside of PODd. Thanks to Japamala, Jagat, King, Roro, Butch, Lei--everyone who lent a hand. We've some new volunteers, and they're kicking some ass! Kkk...

That's all...just thought I should write something here in place of the images. I was absolutely dried up the whole week last week. Didn't have the time to take photos.

Hope all is ok.

THE Basement Pose

This is fun stuff, though not the concept shots i would have wanted to take for this weekend. I must have to wait to do that til later when i actually can and have the time enough to get everything organized.

:::I did the shots this morning from the Keppel basement when I saw the place was filled with smog. (Turns out the Keppel admin was doing some anti-pest exercise, something they do twice a month, I think.) I called Niño, advertising specialist and marketing coordinator of PODD, to come down and pose, which he graciously did without complaint, and even as he were so sleepy after a whole night of working with banners and emailers. All this for the blog. Thanks a lot, Nin.

Celeste and Aji and Patrick will have to wait for another smog.

silence

A conversation begins
with a lie. And each

speaker of the so called common language feels
the ice-floe split, the drift apart

as if powerless, as if up against
the force of nature

A poem can begin
with a lie. And be torn up.

A conversation has other laws
recharges itself with its own

false energy. Cannot be torn
up. Infiltrates our blood. Repeats itself.

Inscribes with its unreturning stylus
the isolation it denies.

--from Cartographies of Silence by Adrienne Rich, 1975

::There's many people to thank for this shoot: Amor - writer by profession, strange and smart woman. She graciouly and painlessly posed for me in this concept and promised to pose for more concepts in the future, for which I am very happy. Earl - Lexmark guy and Pinoypoet who came in because he is kind and curious. Ice, Mayds, Gem for joining us in the aftersession. Leland who offered us his research lab, which we didn't use but will prolly use in the future if it's ok with him, the Madame for the props...

I will be posting more images of Amor from the same session in the coming days. I don't want to bombard you with lots of images, so I will post them in series.
